Craftsmanship with Care: KeyPadOne Supports Its “Little Migratory Birds” Through a Summer “I Can Protect Myself” Program

1. Summer Arrives: The “Little Migratory Birds” Visit a Membrane Switch Factory

Every summer, frontline employees on KeyPadOne's membrane switch and electronic nameplate production lines welcome children who travel from their hometowns. These children, affectionately called “little migratory birds,” are briefly reunited with their parents, but often face gaps in supervision and companionship: their parents work shifts, grandparents have limited energy, and the city is unfamiliar.

As a membrane switch manufacturer with 17 years of experience in precision printing, KeyPadOne understands that behind every employee who can work with peace of mind is the safety and growth of a child. That is why a youth health and safety education program themed “I Can Protect Myself” was warmly launched in the factory training room under the banner “Craftsmanship Builds Quality, Skills Build the Future,” creating an invisible protective shield for these children.

2. At the Event: A Comfortable Lesson on Personal Safety

When the children entered the training room, the bright and lively “I Can Protect Myself” presentation immediately caught their attention. Instead of relying on a lecture-style safety talk, the program used scenario simulation, interactive questions, and role-playing to help the children learn three practical skills:

1. Understanding the “Traffic Lights” of the Body

Using cartoon illustrations, the instructor explained that areas covered by a swimsuit are “red-light areas” that no one may touch without permission. Handshakes and high-fives are “green-light” interactions. Pushing and intimidation are “yellow-light” situations—when they encounter a yellow light, children should say “No” loudly and leave immediately.

2. Telling the Difference Between “Good Secrets” and “Bad Secrets”

Many children do not tell their parents after inappropriate treatment because they cannot distinguish a “bad secret.” Through stories based on real-life situations, the activity helped them understand that any secret that makes them feel afraid or uneasy, or asks them to hide something, is a bad secret and must be shared with a trusted adult.

3. Learning the Three-Step Safety Response

The instructor repeatedly emphasized three actions: say “No” loudly → leave the situation quickly → tell a parent or teacher immediately. Each child also received a help card printed with a parent's phone number and the emergency hotline number.

3. Skills Experience: When the “Little Migratory Birds” Meet the Membrane Switch Production Line

In addition to the personal-safety class, KeyPadOne arranged a “junior engineer” experience. Beneath the slogan “Craftsmanship Builds Quality, Skills Build the Future,” the children entered their parents' world of work for the first time—

From the observation corridor outside the cleanroom, an engineer explained in simple language how a membrane switch is transformed from layers of film. From screen printing and die cutting to assembly and final inspection, every membrane switch key is backed by careful precision-printing controls. The children also touched electronic nameplate samples and watched the touch panels and flexible circuits made by their parents shine in medical equipment and home appliances. Their eyes were filled with curiosity and pride.

“So the membrane switches my father makes are used in hospital equipment!” one “little migratory bird” said excitedly after the experience.

This hands-on, visible skills experience not only helped the children understand the value of their parents' work but also quietly planted a seed of craftsmanship in their hearts.

4. Corporate Responsibility: Helping the “Little Migratory Birds” Feel the Warmth of Craftsmanship

A KeyPadOne representative said: “When we make membrane switches and precision-printed products, we focus on one word: precision. Caring for employees' children also requires attention to detail. When children are safe, employees can work with peace of mind; when employees are at ease, the quality of our membrane switches is better protected.”

This was not KeyPadOne's first employee-care initiative. In recent years, the company has built a five-part summer service system for the children of migrant workers:

Service areaSpecific content
Safety educationDrowning prevention, electrical safety, anti-abduction education + the “I Can Protect Myself” class
Mental healthYouth health workshops + one-on-one counseling
Skills experienceVisit the cleanroom and observe membrane switch production processes
Academic supportThe training room is open, with volunteer teachers available for questions
Parent-child connectionParent growth classes and family communication workshops

This integrated model of classroom learning, factory experience, and family support brings child self-protection education and the spirit of craftsmanship into everyday life.

5. Closing: Every “Little Migratory Bird” Deserves to Be Protected with Care

Like migratory birds, these children travel between cities and villages in search of a sense of home. They often mature earlier and are more sensitive than their peers. What they need is not sympathy, but understanding, respect, and accessible protection.

“I Can Protect Myself” is not merely the theme of an event. It should become one of the strongest foundations of every child's growth. Dongguan Zhongjia Printing Co., Ltd. (brand: KeyPadOne) will use 17 years of precision-printing craftsmanship to protect every “little migratory bird” behind our employees—treating each child with the same meticulous care and accuracy that we bring to every membrane switch.
